The estate Maison Vevey Albert was founded in 1968 by Albert Vevey, the pioneer of wine growing in Aosta Valley, and after the death of father in 1990, his sons Mario and Mirko are continuing with the production of wines.
The estate is located in Morgex, at the foot of Mont Blanc, and like some others from this region, is not so big, the are planted with vines is cca 1,7 ha.
Priè Blanc is the rare autochthonous variety, un-grafted, resistant to cold, and thanks to climate conditions not attacked by phylloxera.
The vegetation cycle is very short, the late budding , the late blooming and the early ripening. The Priè Blanc is cultivated on the low pergolas, vineyards are typically terraced. Vineyards are surrounded by walls of stones. Everything is done to protect grapes, to avoid the damage because of the height of the snow in the winter , for accumulation of heat of the sun and the land during the day, this traditional style of vines growing gives a possibility to survive in heavy climate conditions and to ripe.

Priè Blanc in purity . The other variety to know and to taste. I like it as still as bubbles, it is everytime a good choice . The another one interpretation, the another producer of quality wines. The colour straw yellow transparent. The olfactory reminiscent of herbs, thyme, sage, mint, white flowers, green apple. The wine is fragrant, fresh, crispy, sapid and mineral.
Blanc Flapì, the wine from over-riped grapes, iced. The grapes of Priè Blanc are dried and frozen during winter. The freezing increase the gradation of sugars. The grapes are after pressed at the temperature of about-10 degrees, and after that proceeds the slow fermentation. The obtained ice wine preserves the freshness and the acidity typical for the variety together with the high sugar content ( cca 110 g/lt). I, personally, prefer to pair with blue-cheese, especially with fantastic local goat blue-cheese.
Flapì, this name means in local dialect, the pasta which remains after pressing nuts for obtaining the oil.
The visit of city Morgex is always a very nice experience, the place is beautiful, the grapes growing is very particular, Priè Blanc is unique variety, achieved is wine excellent and to taste it is the must, the destination to visit without any doubts, one of the most marvellous locations in Aosta Valley.
